Knee Pain

Many people complain about pain on the knee caused by referred pain from other body parts or the knee joint itself. Four bones articulate in the knee joint. These are tibia, femur, fibula and patella. Compartments of the knee can suffer from injury, repetitive strain or disease. Being overweight puts you at a higher risk of knee problems.
Causes of knee pain

Anterior pain
Rheumatoid arthritis and gout
There might be inflammation from extreme pressure. Such injury and kneeling for a long time.
Connective tissue disorder
Dislocation at the kneecap
Infection in the joint
Torn cartilage or ligament
Un natural or sudden twist
Bone tumors


Home care Remedies


Avoid activities that cause you pain especially weight related activities
Apply ice at least three times a day.
Raise your knee to bring any swelling down
Wear an elastic sleeve or ace bandage
Take painkillers to reduce the pain.
Sleep with a pillow between or underneath your knees


If you are experiencing pain on the knee, visit a doctor for physical examination with most attention on the knee, legs, hips and other joints. You should learn strengthening and stretching exercises. This will help you avoid knee problems.
