Hepatitis is a condition that describes swelling or inflammation of the liver.
It's mainly caused by viruses. There are different types of the disease, named after the virus that causes them that is Hepatitis A, B and C. Alcohol consumption and taking of drugs can lead to the condition, or in some instances, the body will by attack its tissues by mistake.

To prevent contraction of the viral disease, a person can get vaccinated. The disease can also go away itself, or be treated by drugs .Sometimes the disease might persist for long leading to liver cirrhosis and even liver failure that is fatal.

The symptoms may not be visible in some people, but commonly displayed symptoms when in acute state include, diarrhea ,headache, nauseated feeling and vomiting, loss of appetite, fever ,the yellowing of skin and eyes i.e. jaundice and stomach pains. Chronic condition will lead to cirrhosis, weight loss and even kidney malfunction.
