Hematuria

Hematuria is a mysterious sounding name that simply means blood in the urine.  Blood in the urine is not always cause for serious alarm, but blood in the urine should never be ignored.  Still, it can be difficult to pinpoint the source of the problem within a system where hematuria can have many sources.

Blood in the urine can come from a number of different places within the urinary system.  It can originate from the kidneys, where urine is produced.  It can also come from other parts of the urinary system.  The tubes that lead from the kidneys to the bladder, known are ureters, can be the source of the blood.  Also, the bladder itself, the bag where urine is stored until it is excreted, can be the source of the problem.  Bladder infections are known to produce some blood, which will then show up when urine is excreted.  Blood can also come from the tube through which urine passes as it exits the body.  This tube is known as the urethra, and it can become rather inflamed if infected, and produce blood.

When considering the health and healing of bleeding within the urinary system, the holistic approach can allow a patient to address all of these, restoring greater health to the system as a whole.  There are many natural health products available to assist patients in restoring health and balance to this system.  When hematuria threatens, be sure to give your body the best chance of healing by treating more than just one pinpointed source, but rather the system as a whole.

A Word from Our In House Expert

This is a problem that should have medical advice to assess properly.  Feeding the kidneys support and nutrition to rebuild properly is an excellent measure to help eliminate this problem.  Generally speaking, the kidney filters are not working properly due to trauma or general abuse.  Metagenics and Pure Encapsulations are two great products for rebuilding this key filter.
