Obstructed Airways

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, blocks the airways in our system. With the blockages comes lung disease, while bronchitis and emphysema can form. It is likely a result of prolonged smoking, or any smoke inhalation.

When you have obstructed airways, and thus breathing difficulties, it can impact every part of your day-to-day life. Even a walk from your office to the car can present a shortness of breath and dizziness. Your body is trying to fight through these obstructed airways to get necessary oxygen, almost like when we are sucking hard on a straw to get that first taste of a thick, but delicious milkshake. Or, to remain on the straw theme, any kind of obstruction that also limits the milkshake from coming into our mouths.

There is no cure for COPD, but a decrease in smoking, or elimination all together, will help your airways become less obstructed. You can notice signs of breathing problems, such as persistent coughing, tightness in your chest or wheezing. There is even the concern of second-hand smoke giving way to these problems.

Examine how better you will feel by taking in holistic wellness. This kind of health, which could be as easy as taking in more of the outdoors and fresh air, will help you cope with all of life's hectic tendencies.

dr.-dave-bordered.jpg  Dr. Dave States: By the time that you have COPD, the pulmonary system has been long insulted from either smoke inhalation or dust of many different particles.  Many different vitamins and minerals are good for development of lung tissue and recovery of damaged lung tissue.  It is all about tissue regeneration with supplements that are compounded to support lung issues.
