Chronic Pelvic Pain

Look no further than your midsection to find chronic pelvic pain. If you have experienced any discomfort in the region between your belly button and just north of your hips — at least for an extended period of time — then you could have this ailment. Whether it comes and goes, a sharp or dulling pain, if it has happened around six months or more, then it likely will not go away without treatment.

There are many tissues, organs, and other parts of your midsection that could bring on this pain. Any problems with your uterus, ovaries, or cervix can evolve into chronic pelvic pain. If any of these are damaged, or if you had a hysterectomy and there were complications, then this pain could persist. If there are problems with food digestion, then your intestines could be affected and hurt.

You can also examine your sexual history. Discomfort or hard movements during intercourse can cause damage to the pelvis. While birth control is primarily used to halt fertility, it can also be used to combat pains associated with your midsection.

With women’s health, it is important to take a holistic approach to alleviate this condition. You can stretch your muscles and get a balanced workout through yoga, as well as the relaxation always needed to keep a body rested. Even a conversation with a good friend can restore some happiness and avoid any excessive worry about the pain, since that could worsen the condition.
