Avian Flu

The avian flu differs from the human flu, but mainly because the avian variety deals with birds. Everyone knows what can happen with a common cold, which can bring about the flu. From coughing to fever and fatigue, it can all spell the onset of influenza in humans. It becomes a lot harder to diagnose on the surface when it comes to avian flu.

Yes, avian flu is from the birds. It is first carried by wild birds, but also contagious amongst many of the birds that impact us today, such as chickens, ducks and turkeys. The impact comes at our dinner table, since these are birds we eat every day. While they are more domesticated, it is the wild birds that normally carry the virus, then infect others. It can multiply when these birds have eggs, thus raising more waterfowl with the avian flu.

With all of these combinations of contracting the virus, it is easy to see how we can also be infected by bird flu. This infection could become more dangerous than human influenza, and include dizziness, pneumonia and respiratory problems. While there are many types of avian viruses, many cannot be spread to humans, but we must stay educated on all kinds of fly symptoms to ensure we are protected. A holistic approach to recovery is available.
